At The Classic Car Guys UK, we don’t just buy and sell classic cars, we also help owners keep their classics on the road. Based in Epperstone, Nottinghamshire, our workshop provides classic car repairs, servicing, fault diagnosis and recommissioning for customers throughout Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas. With an experienced classic car technician on site, we understand that working on an older vehicle can be very different from working on a modern car. From carburettors and points ignition to braking systems and mechanical fault finding, we take a practical, knowledgeable approach to looking after classic vehicles. Classic Car Repairs Whether you’ve got a minor problem or a classic that simply isn’t running as it should, we can investigate and repair a wide range of mechanical faults. Our workshop services can include: Engine fault diagnosis Ignition and timing problems Carburettor setup and tuning Fuel system problems Cooling system repairs Brake repairs and servicing Clutch and transmission issues Electrical fault finding General servicing and maintenance MOT preparation Mechanical recommissioning If you’re unsure what your classic needs, speak to us first and we’ll discuss the problem with you. Classic Car Recommissioning Has your classic car been sitting in a garage, barn or collection for years? This is an area we particularly enjoy. Bringing a vehicle back into use after a long period of storage needs to be approached carefully. Simply fitting a battery and attempting to start an engine that hasn’t run for years isn’t always the best idea. We can assess the vehicle and work through the areas necessary to return it safely and reliably to the road. Depending on the vehicle and how long it has been standing, this could include checking the engine, fuel system, brakes, tyres, cooling system, ignition, electrics and fluids before attempting to put the car back into regular use. Classic Ford, MG, Triumph & British Classic Specialists We work with a wide variety of classic and enthusiast vehicles, including cars from manufacturers such as: Ford • MG • Triumph • Morris • Austin • Vauxhall • Volkswagen • Land Rover We are particularly comfortable working with traditional mechanical systems found on British and European classics from the 1960s through to the 1980s. If your particular make or model isn’t listed, give us a call, there’s a good chance we can still help. Bought a Classic Car That Needs Sorting? Perhaps you’ve recently bought a classic that looked great but needs a few mechanical jobs completing. We can inspect the vehicle, identify problems and discuss which jobs should be prioritised. Our aim isn’t to replace everything unnecessarily. We want to help you understand the car and get it working as it should. Thinking of Selling Your Classic? Because The Classic Car Guys UK also specialises in classic car sales, we can offer a different perspective from a conventional garage. If you’re spending money preparing a classic for sale, we can discuss which work is worthwhile before you commit to unnecessary expenditure. And if you subsequently decide you’d rather sell the vehicle, we may also be interested in buying it or helping you sell it. Real Classic Cars. Real Workshop Work. We’re classic car enthusiasts ourselves. You’ll regularly see vehicles being repaired, diagnosed and recommissioned in our workshop, and we feature many of our cars and projects on The Classic Car Guys UK YouTube channel. We believe customers should be able to see who they’re dealing with and the type of vehicles we work on.
